Anamika (story)

'Sorry Mr. Vasudev ... we could not save your wife ... they had serious injuries in the accident ... you know ... !!!  We took the baby out by caesarean section ... She has been shifted to NICU for less than a month ... Then ... !!! '

 'Then ... ???  Doctor, tell me anything ... '

'If you know your wife's stomach fell ... so ... the baby will have to wait a little longer to find out if there are any defects in it ... According to the pediatrician, there is a suspicion of minor head injury ... so the daughter may be paralyzed for the rest of her life.  .. Let us hope for the best ... Pray to God ... '

The words the doctor said years ago seemed to ring in Vasudev's ears.

He also took his pregnant wife on a bike when he insisted that she eat dinner cake that night.  They both hit a car that went out of control and fell on the road.  Her baby was only seven months old when she fell to the ground.  Somehow she was rushed to the hospital with the help of those who lived nearby.  But he could not save her life.

Anamika, as the rest of the newspaper in that accident, was left with their daughter unable to get out of bed.

'Why not ... wasting your life for someone who can't even do his own thing ... ???  You still young ... ???  You can think of another marriage ... There are a lot of institutions to care after such children now ... with a child somewhere there ... ??? '

He smiled in response to his sister's loving words as he looked after his daughter.

'Auntie is right ... why is my father like this ... just for me ... ???'

He rubbed her filled eyes with his hands.

Since it was an institution he ran on his own, he moved the office home to pay more attention to his daughter.

Gradually he realized that her legs were a little stronger than the rest of her body.

He trained her to write and draw with her feet, although it was a little difficult.  He was amazed at the enchantment hidden in the pictures she drew.

He had a degree in mechanical engineering and bought a computer and modified it so that she could operate on her feet.  Anamika quickly acquired it too.

She drew the same magical pictures on the computer as she did in the book.  As a freelancer, she started drawing for various multimedia companies and started earning money.

As the demand for her paintings increased, she gradually decided to start a small company.  The growth of the company was very fast.

'And now I welcome Miss Anamika Vasudev to receive the Youth Icon Award of the Year ...'

Vasudev woke up from his thoughts when he heard loud applause along with the voice of a girl calling on stage.  He got up from his seat, pushed Anamika's wheelchair and went up to the stage with her.

'So ... anamika ... what do you have to say to everyone in this situation where you've got the Youth Icon of the Year ... ???'

The audience all fell silent and listened to her words as the girl said holding Mike close to Anamika's lips.

'Everyone is so thankful ... There were so many things in my life that my body was exhausted and my mind was exhausted ... Some people's words ... Sometimes it even made me wonder why I was living like this in vain ... But ... My father ....  '

She put her head in Vasudev's hands.

'To overcome such a great crisis ... to make the weary one a youth icon ... like this ... just have someone to say that I am with you ... that you can do it ... that one will fill our wasteland with colors ... for me  My father was there to support me ... and we had the financial security to do so ... but the thought of not having a lot of people to support you in a situation like this made me deserve this award today ... '

 She continued with a smile.

'All the profits from my company are used for the upliftment of many who have no one to support them like me ... I am so happy to know that so many people will get their lives back ... I can do nothing A better answer to those who mocked me thinking I would be a burden ... Stop saying.. thank you to everyone ...... '

Everyone in the auditorium stood up to applaud.

He rolled his daughter's wheelchair proudly through them and got out.

He went down with her to the darkened path and looked up at the sky.  A star saw the sight and blinked at them.
